Ever wonder about what they do in a town called Uranium?

Saskatchewan has the richest uranium deposits in the world. The
province is the world's largest producer and exporter of uranium.
All of the uranium produced in Canada comes from Saskatchewan.
The rich uranium deposits are concentrated in the Athabasca basin in
northwest corner of the province. The industry is centred around
the slowly dying Uranium City on the north
shore of Lake Athabasca.
Uranium City now has a population of less than 200 people. The
hospital, local services and airport are the main employers in the
community. The townspeople still maintain a curling rink and ice rink
and there are numerous community activities for such a small
community.
Open pit mines and underground mines still extract the mineral in the
area, which is then crushed and milled to separate the uranium.
The uranium from mines at Rabbit Lake and Key Lake is sold to fuel
power plants in Canada, the United States, Europe and the Far East.
